Stuff

I'm mostly a visual person so I many times I find peace and inspiration in beautiful pictures. I have an entire ever growing collection of images so I thought I would share it with you guys! Ofcourse I could do like everybody else and post them on Facebook, but I'm too lazy to do that.

Love the contrast of the shoes vs the innocent princess attitude!

love the details of the blouse and how the picture is made...capturing a moment

well...you get the message here:)

How superb are the details on the back?

collored glass+light = something amazing

shoes that read Vogue!

I absolutely love Mira Duma's style!

Glitter in the night...

Paris...soft contrast...lovely

Christian Dior- 1949-50 collection, Junon Dress, Venus Dress (in the back)

so ethnic&cool

this is a picture I found when I was making my storyboard for my design classes.
I like the mix of colors

Jesse Owens- won 4 gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

Is this a dream bed or what?

Mud art, again for my storyboard. The theme?

Yes.

It's about mud.

RED

there's something vintage modern cool about this picture

Madame Vionnet, queen of the bias cut.

Sequins it is!

So cute! I'm a sucker for lace!!!

I like the detalis on the blouse!

Karla form Karla's Closet. She loves vintage just as much as I do!

Have a lovely weekend!

FOREVER GORGEOUS

 Vionnet.
 Madeleine Vionnet
(June 22, 1876 – March 2, 1975)
A French lady also called the "Queen of the bias cut", makes me feel sorry I wasn't born 90 years earlier to see her raw talent live. It absolutely fascinates me how contemporary her designs look decades later. I love her creations, I respect her courage to innovate and I adore the fact that the dresses she made are forever gorgeous.
My fav! It's also on phone as wallpaper!

Evening Dress Spring/Summer 1938. Yes, 1938!

Here are some pictures I took yesterday from this fashion album:

To prevent fraudulent copying Vionett's right thumb was added to her label from 1923.

superb details
Another amazing dress made in 1933, the picture for the add is made in 1936.
M. Vionnet would first make the model of the dress on a miniature doll.
From the stiffness of corsets and society to fluidity, motion, elegance and freedom. A true creator, a true inspiration!
And in the end a drop of wisdom from Madame Vionnet herself "when a woman smiles, then her dress should smile too."

I wish you a wonderful day filled with smiling dresses:)!
xoxo
